14-week-old baby wakes up after 5-day coma and smiles beautifully right at dad in magical moment

When a child is born, it is to be a time of celebration. The overjoyed parents look down at their new arrival and bask in that parental glow of a life created.
The Labuschagne’s are one such couple that had this moment. However, it was very brief as joy quickly turned to horror when their infant, Michael, at a mere 14 weeks old suffered from heart failure.
The Labuschagne’s were devastated and had to watch their son slip into a potentially fatal coma.
“We watched our baby breathless, gasping for air while his heart stopped and paramedics worked to save his life.” Michael’s mother, Emma Labuschagne wrote on a GoFundMe page.
“In that moment I did not think Michael would make it through. We were told even if he pulled through, he would not be the same baby.” Emma added.
But Michael did in fact pull through and did so in a fashion even the best screenwriter in Hollywood couldn’t draft.
“The first thing he did when he opened his beautiful brown eyes was smile at his daddy.” Emma said.
Michael not only woke up but favored his father with a smile that simultaneously melted his parents’ hearts and then filled them with complete happiness.
Michael’s return from the brink shows us that the human spirit and will to survive can overcome even the darkest circumstances.
Even a tiny child can will themselves back from the very worst life has to offer.
The GoFundMe page for Michael is still ongoing to get him to Boston for treatment. You can donate by clicking here.
