Boy who used his Disney trip money to feed Hurricane Dorian evacuees got surprised with dream Disney vacation
Remember the boy who used his hard earned Disney trip money to feed Hurricane Dorian evacuees instead? Well, the now 7-year-old and his family were surprised with a dream vacation to Walt Disney World – it just so happened to coincide with his 7th birthday.
Jermaine Bell and his parents had been saving up money to go on a dream vacation to Walt Disney World. But, while on vacation in South Carolina, the news of Hurricane Dorian’s arrival was all the family could think about.
Jermaine decided to use his trip money to provide food and water for evacuees fleeing Hurricane Dorian. He set up a stand and handed out hot dogs, chips, and water to everyone who made a ‘pit stop’.
“The people that are traveling to go to other places, I wanted them to have some food to eat, so they can enjoy the ride to the place that they’re going to stay at,” Jermaine said.
His mother says she couldn’t be prouder of Jermaine and it turns out Walt Disney World is pretty pleased with his generousness too.
While celebrating his seventh-birthday on Sunday, Mickey Mouse and a group of Disney cast members made a surprise visit to his home in Jacksonville. They told Jermaine and his family that they are going to Walt Disney World after all. The family received a VIP getaway vacation later this month.
