Dad loses 92 pounds after noticing he can’t keep up with kids on hiking trip
This father is taking the term ‘Dad Bod’ to a whole new level. There’s always a catalyst someone speaks about when finally making the decision to stick with a weight loss or fitness journey. For this dad, it was not being able to keep up with his kids on a hiking trip.
A Montana father of three says he was spurred to shred nearly 100 pounds when he noticed he couldn’t keep up with his kids.
It all started in 2017 when 290-pound Jeremiah Peterson, 40, took a hiking trip with his wife and 9-, 7- and 6-year-old and found himself constantly gasping for air.
“Instead of remembering all the good memories we had made on this trip all I can remember is this one thing that kept playing in my head over and over again,” Peterson wrote on Instagram.
“I found myself running out of breath and having to take breaks way before my [kids].”
So the pop decided to turn his flab into abs — and achieved his goal in just five months.
For half a year, he spent two hours hiking and an hour in the gym every day. He also completely cut out booze, he told HTV.
Now, he can run up the same trail that used to wind him without stopping.
“Finding your reason why is essential if you want to achieve success in life,” he wrote to his 89,000 Instagram followers.
“If you don’t have a strong reason behind your actions you are less likely to get the results.”
