Loving husband spends 2 years planting thousands of beautiful flowers for his blind wife to smell
Mr. and Mrs. Kuroki lived a happy life as dairy farmers in rural Japan, raising two lovely children. But tragedy struck when Mrs. Kuroki suddenly lost her sight due to complications from diabetes. Soon, she became depressed and withdrawn, secluding herself in the family home.
Mr. Kuroki struggled to find a way to cheer his wife when a beautiful idea occurred to him: he decided to plant a flower garden where she could enjoy their smell, enticing her to go outside.
The inspiration came to him one day when he was working on a small garden and noticed a lot of people stopping by to take a look at the pink shibazakura flowers that he planted.
Mr.Kuroki immediately thought that if he created a bigger garden, more visitors would come and would help cheer Mrs.Kuroki
The next two years were spent planting as many flowers as he could and tending the garden in order to keep them healthy. Over time, the Kuroki farm in Shintomi was turned into one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan.
Two years of hard work and thousands of flowers later, the private farm now draws people who want to see this real life love story from all around the world.

Mrs. Kuroki, sadly, was not able to see the flowers, but she could smell them and imagine what the garden now looks like. She also has plenty of company now, all tourists and visitors to the garden.
This garden has been a popular destination for more than a decade now and has brought joy in the lives of many, especially Mrs. Kuroki.
